Women’s day 2018

On Women’s day 2018, branch 1012 Paarl was involved in handing over a home in partnership with the Housing Development Agency (HDA).

Present on the day were:

• Nomaindia Mfeketho – Minister of Human Settlement and Development
• Prince Madikizela – Leader of the DA Western Cape / MEC for Human Settlement and Development
• Conrad Poole – Executive Mayor – Drakenstein

The President Cyril Ramaphosa was scheduled to appear as well, but his security detail turned his convoy around due to the volume of people present.

It’s important to note that the recipient of the home, Ms Nonnie Adonis, is 94 years old and has been on the HDA’s waiting list for a house since 1996 and her house was built and furnished as a special project from the President’s office.

We were proud to present Ms Adonis with a donation of the following items:

• KIC Fridge
• Kelvinator Microwave Oven
• Russel Hobbs 3 piece Appliance Pack

Branch 1012 is highly active in the Drakenstein Community.
